At-Large Member – Friends of the Library Board
Board members support our organization and the library through a variety of means including attendance at monthly meetings, actively serving on committees, attending and assisting with events, fundraising, etc. If you love our library and have skills and time to share, this may be a great fit for you.
Volunteer Coordinator (VC) – Friends of the Library Board
The Volunteer Coordinator is on the FOL Executive Board and maintains records of all active volunteers with their contact information and works to match volunteers’ interests with FOL needs. Volunteer records are backed up for safekeeping. The VC plans and implements the annual volunteer appreciation event held as part of the annual meeting. Volunteer hours are collected and reported at the monthly board meetings. Record keeping also includes descriptions of volunteer positions and volunteer signed release forms.
Recycle Assistant
Our librarians would love help with recycling and the many boxes received weekly. Before library recycling pickup day, the assistant would breakdown the cardboard boxes and size the pieces to meet the town recycling requirements. Recycling is picked up every two weeks on Wednesday (subject to change) so the boxes need to be broken down by the Tuesday before pickup. This will be a tremendous help to the library staff.
Newsletter Editor
The FoL sends out newsletters where we share information about the goings-on with the library, the Friends, and our community. You would be responsible for making blog posts and sending out newsletters. It would require 1-3 hours each month (depending largely on newsletter size and membership signups). Helping with this would require that you have access to a computer (desktop or laptop) and to the internet. Detailed instructions will be provided, and support will always be available.
