FOL Volunteer Wins Award

Volunteer Lyndall Noyes-Brownell was recently honored with the Willie Headley Service Award from the Black Mountain Beautification Committee. This prestigious honor earned a front-page story in the Black Mountain News this week.  The award is given to someone who has committed years — yes, years — to the Black Mountain Beautification Committee and to enhancing Black Mountain.

Not only does Lyndall volunteer with the Black Mountain Beautification Committee she is also a Friends of the Library volunteer. Oh, and an active Buncombe County Master Gardener, too. As an FOL volunteer, Lyndall maintains the Seed Library, helps with the raised beds at the library, and sells books for the library on her Etsy site. And she does all this, and more, quietly, and efficiently. We are proud to call Lyndall a friend and fellow volunteer.
