FOL Book Donations

Thanks to the generosity of Black Mountain residents, the FOL receives book donations every week. Sometimes a few books, sometimes several boxes of books. Most of these donations are destined for our library bookstore, and the money raised from selling these books is used to support the library.

Occasionally the FOL receives a donation of older books that are collectible but really not appropriate for the bookstore. These books are sold online.

We currently have two Etsy stores:

FOLBlackMountain (https://www.etsy.com/shop/FOLBlackMountain?ref=shop_sugg)

BlackMountainReads (https://www.etsy.com/shop/BlackMountainReads?ref=shop_sugg)

Both stores sell books that are at least 20 years old, and some books that are over 100 years old.

A recent example is a donation from a local library supporter who donated her great-grandfather’s books. He was an educator and shared the books with his students. This donation also included several interesting and unusual text books from the late 1800s and early 1900s. These books are finding their way to online sales on the Etsy stores.

If you have books you’d like to donate, you will find the donation box inside the front doors of the library. The FOL welcomes and appreciates your support!
