October Volunteer of the Month

Susan Leive spent summers in Black Mountain beginning in 2000 and each year summer lasted longer and longer until she finally relocated full time from the Florida gulf coast in 2009. She is a member of the Friends of the Library Board and is our Volunteer of the Month for October.

Helping out at the library seemed like the perfect fit for Susan since she loves to read and enjoys the library. Susan is very project oriented and over the last several years she has helped with book sales, floats for the Black Mountain Holiday Parade, the FOL library bookstore, special author events and myriad other projects. She is also the FOL Volunteer Coordinator.

In what little spare time is left, Susan enjoys traveling, interior design projects and managing rental properties she and her husband own. Susan’s days are busy!Susan is a dynamo who gets things done! If there is a problem, Susan resolves it. If something is broken, Susan fixes it.  Her dedication and commitment are unflagging, and the FOL is the lucky recipient of her superpowers!
