January Volunteers of the Month

Girl Scouts save the backs of Friends of the Library members (literally!) every time we have a book sale. What would we do without them? That’s why the Girl Scouts of Troop 2498 are Volunteers of the Month for January.

The Girl Scouts helped make our December Book Sale a success!

Each week, FOL members store boxes of books in the Little House behind the library. These are the books that are destined for the next pop-up sale. The day before the sale, we set up tables and get everything ready for the books. Then the Girl Scouts arrive with their wagons. They empty the Little House of all the boxes, bring them into the library, and unload the boxes onto the tables. The boxes are heavy, but you’d never know it by watching the Scouts. They are hardworking and efficient. And their help is certainly appreciated!

Troop 2498 was founded over 15 years ago and includes Daisies, Brownies, Cadettes, and Seniors. This is a very active troop and is focused on community service. Current leaders are Kiersten Hall, Jade Baker, and Vanessa Tillis. FOL extends a round of applause to not only the Scouts, but also these three women who have committed their time and energy to the Troop.
