Big Book Sale and an Antique Book Sale, Too!
Folks were lined up at 9:15am on Saturday, August 12 (the morning of the Sourwood Festival) anxiously waiting for the doors to open for the Big Book Sale. And the emphasis was on BIG! FOL had recently received a single contribution of two truckloads of used books. When the sale started there were 250 boxes of books on tables ready for shoppers, with lots of extra boxes stacked underneath the tables. At 9:30am early bird shoppers enthusiastically kicked off the sale. By 10:15am, the aisles were packed with readers filling Ingles shopping bags with books! It was a great day.
But wait, that’s not all! On Saturday, August 26, FOL participated in the Swannanoa Valley Museum’s Antique Sale. We had a wonderful time with lots of interest in our vintage and antique books. Another great day.
