Art in the Afternoon Benefits FOL
Each year, Art in the Afternoon chooses a local nonprofit to benefit from the proceeds from their annual art exhibition and silent auction. This year, Friends of the Black Mountain Library was the beneficiary receiving a $1,000 check on July 22nd!
Art in the Afternoon is a fine arts-based afterschool program serving local students. Students working in a variety of media including pottery, painting, mosaics, collage and drawing created close to 1,000 pieces of art which were displayed throughout June in the Library’s Community Room.

The Black Mountain Library has hosted the exhibition since its beginning 14 years ago. 2022 was the first show in three years due to the pandemic. W are looking forward to the 15th annual art show in 2023!Photo Caption: Surrounded by young artists, FOL Vice President, Beebe Woodside and Art in the Afternoon Director, “S,” proudly display a handmade check.
