A New FoL Etsy Store – Thanks to our Volunteer of the Month

Our Volunteer of the Month, Laura Lunsford Carrick, has opened a second Etsy Store of vintage books for the Friends of the Black Mountain Library. This means even more on-line book shopping for us!

As a retired litigation paralegal, Laura knew her computer skills and love of books would be perfect for establishing another FoL Etsy store.  She grew up in the rural South and in the summer, the local library would deliver books to a small country store near Laura. She read every book that was delivered.  Needless to say, books were and continue to be a joy for Laura and she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering with FoL.

Laura’s activities include Pilates, making baby afghans and three mile walks.  Her ambitious FoL goal is to have 200 books for sale in her FoL Etsy store soon!   She already has more than 100 books in the store now. Many people find great gifts for themselves and others as they browse our on-line stores.  Our two etsy sites are Black Mountain Reads and FOL Black Mountain.
